The Future
By Lorina Simmonds (2020)

Meet Lorina
Christmas 2018 was the beginning of a super creative journey for me where I brightened up many homes with the Christmas range of cheerful bunting. People’s hearts were delighted as they invested in bunting for their own homes as well as gifts for their loved ones.

Cassidy, my six year old daughter, has a creative thread in her every move. She is the reason I have delved into a business where we can both grow in a colorful business world.

Bunting has been a pattern in our family for years. All birthday parties have been embraced with a string of bunting and this creates everlasting memories. Bunting has become a part of our treasure chest.
Our Team
I (Lorina) would be of utmost assistance to get your bunting made up and delivered to you. My family are my greatest motivation and my highest regard goes to your family and making your occasion the best. Be it an occasion you’re hosting or a gift you’re creating for someone special - I am with you.
The Production line are a team of ladies eagerly wanting to compliment your occasion with their skill of hand made cloth bunting. Each string is carefully put together with much thought & care. Our bunting has a life span of your choice, the better you pack it away after use, the longer it will serve you.
Our History
By Carrie Kesson (2013-2019)
Our bespoke bunting range A bit of Better Bunting was born and handmade with love in Johannesburg, South Africa.
I (Carrie Kesson) was gifted a pile of gorgeous fabric of various lengths, colours, hues and designs in March 2013. Perfect for a string of Bunting for our family Easter breakfast, I folded an A4 sheet of paper in half and viola I had my template! Once hung, I decided that one string wasn’t nearly enough, so had to make four.
Of course, that wasn’t the end. A new Baby’s Nursery, a milestone Birthday, my niece’s Wedding, another Birthday, a Farewell, a Craft market, Christmas, Women’s Day, Hero of the Month, School Sport’s day, a 21st Birthday, a Bachelorette Party and a plethora of family Celebrations, set me on a new wonderful journey.
With the help of my bestie Pauline, just retired from Teaching, we soon begged Selina to assist with the turning and ironing and invited Karabo, complete with charming smile and Economics degree and Gracious, a fashion designer at heart. Jenny joined the team to keep an eagle eye on the books and financial matters. Teaming up with Lee Ann our laser cutter was a match made in heaven, always available 24/7 and finally, Assah an extra seamstress.

We joined the Little Field Mouse Markets and Shops in Johannesburg, owned by Debbie Fending, who had the vision of empowering small businesses. Soon Debbie was opening stores outside of Johannesburg. Dullstroom, Clarens, a taste of Pretoria, Hoedspruit, Hermanus and Plettenberg Bay giving us invaluable access and exposure to Shopping Malls and Leisure destinations.
We ended 2019 adding to our already busy local Christmas markets, two Christmas Markets in the UK! Blenheim Palace as well as The Oxford Christmas Market in Oxfordshire. What an exciting achievement!
We are now thrilled to pass on the reins to Lorina Simmonds, who is taking this little business to new heights. She is rebranding to “Better Bunting” so that A bit of Better Bunting will continue in the United Kingdom.
